Tokyo–(BUSINESS WIRE)—Japanese scientists have developed a new cell transplantation method to treat corneal endothelial disease such as bullous keratopathy with nanocomposite gel sheet. An Indian patent has been issued to GN Corporation (GNC). This method has already been issued as a Japanese patent, and it can be used to restore the visual acuity of several patients by using corneal endothelial cell progenitor cells in which cells derived from one cadaver donor cornea are cultured in the laboratory and could be used to save the vision several eyes.
