Edogawa NICHE Prize lecture by Dr. John Craig Venter, geneticist and a pioneer in human genome research in Toronto

The Edogawa NICHE Prize, which is professionally managed by GN Corporation, organized the 2020 Edogawa NICHE Prize lecture by Dr. John Craig Venter on October 25, 2023, in UHN Ajmera Transplant Center, Toronto, co-hosted by the Training Program for Regenerative Medicine (TPRM) and the German Society for Stem Cell Research (GSZ), (Dr. John Craig Venter).

His talk titled “Sequencing the Human Genome; Implications for Allogeneic Immune Diseases” was attended by approximately 150 delegates, including online participants. After the lecture, Dr. Craig Venter was presented with the Edogawa NICHE Prize plaque and medal, which had been delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and he signed copies of his book “The Voyage of the Sorcerer II” in the following gala dinner attended by Prof Gary Levy, faculty of University of Toronto and Dr. Stephen Scherer of Sick Kids Hospital.

The President and Director of the Edogawa Hospital of the Social Welfare Corporation “Jinseisha”, co-founder of the Edogawa NICHE Prize, were handed a replica of the plaque with the personally signed copies of the book by Dr. Craig Venter.
